Rich people never deposit over $10,000 into their bank account. And most people have no idea why. The moment you deposit $10,000 or more, your bank is legally required to file a currency transaction report directly to the federal government. No warning, no conversation. Just a file with your name on it. This is the Bank Secrecy Act, and it's been in place since 1970. Here's the part they never taught you in school. It doesn't matter if the money is hundred percent clean. It doesn't matter if you pay taxes on every single dollar. The report gets filed automatically. But here's what the wealthy figured out a long time ago. Mistake number one. Treating your bank account like a wealth vault. It's not. A bank account loses value everyday. Inflation eats it. The system monitors it. And money sitting in a savings account is money working for the bank, not for you. Mistake No. 2. Keeping too much cash liquid. The wealthy keep as little as possible in personal bank accounts. They move money into assets, real estate, equities, business ownership. Things that compound while they sleep. Mistake No. 3. Holding everything in your personal name. L L C's, trusts and holding companies. Not to hide money, but because they understand that money held in the right structure is protected, efficient, and harder to target. The poor keep cash in banks. The middle class keep savings in banks. The wealthy keep their money moving. So the next time you're proud of a big deposit? Ask yourself one question. Who does that money serve sitting there? Because the wealthy already know the answer, and it's not you. Comment. Wealth. If this opened your eyes.
