Anthropic now wants to scan your face and your ID to use cloud. And the deeper I look into who processes that scan, the more insane this guy. That's right. Anthropic just updated their privacy policy. And deep in the fine print, they said that they can flag your account and ask for a government ID plus a facial geometry template. Which basically means they can require a digital scan of your actual face to verify you are the person claiming to own the cloud account. What's super creepy is the company that's doing the scanning. It's called persona and it's back by founder's fund, which is the firm that Peter T said started. And just so you know, founder's fund also invests in anthropological. So in other words, the AI company and the thing collecting your face for the AI are owned by the same people. And this drop right after the government force them to pull their most powerful AI models offline. And I personally use these AI tools every day. But I personally don't feel comfortable trusting anthropological with my face. Especially when the same guy who's invested in talantier mass surveillance is also behind this anthropological policy chain. All I'm saying is I've got questions. And trust me, I like Cloud and AI in general and it's a powerful tool that could be used for so much good.
