Right now there's an American girl who has decided that she wants to move to Afghanistan with her boyfriend that she supposedly met on Snapchat. Let's talk about it. Every day I've been getting so many comments, so many tags, people asking me to speak out on this and to help convince this girl not to move to Afghanistan. So I have a few theories and a few ideas. My initial thought process when I saw this was that she is doing this for clout. And I know that may seem a little bit disrespectful in a way, but this is why I think that when I scroll down on her page, she has videos with said husband or the said man who supposedly she is moving for. There is a lot of different evidence to say that she has met him before. I haven't really gone through all of her videos regarding this, but people are saying that, you know, she's going to marry this guy. I also took a look at some of her other content and it does seem like she's trying to get views based on just random topics. So she's been really, really trying to gain a following and get views. And then it seems like she figures out this might be the way to do it. If you don't know me, why are people asking me about my opinion on Afghanistan and this girl moving to Afghanistan? Personally, I have visited Afghanistan in October of 2022. So this is only a few months after the TB had taken over the country. Now, because of my appearance, I was often mistaken for an Afghan woman. So immediately, I would be presumed to be local and I would be blocked from entering a mosque or a park or a certain area because women were not allowed on those days. Since then, things have gotten progressively worse. I've heard and I've been told that women cannot speak in public in certain cities. Things have just massively changed now. When I was there, I was able to then pull out my passport and say, no, I'm a foreigner. Please let me partake in this activity or do this thing, but as an Afghan woman with an Afghan passport, you cannot do those things. In regards to her moving to Afghanistan, there are a few things that I should mention. First of all, she is a foreigner. So as an American, she is going to get some level of foreigner privilege. Two, her soon to be husband or husband, most likely, if he's been out of the country and has the ability to, you know, leave and come back, he most likely has some type of privilege. Maybe they are in the government of some kind, or they have ties to the TB. I'm not sure. I would not say that I am the authority on everything Afghanistan or that I know best or anything like that. I do have a few extremely viral videos that have caught on and so people, you know, have known that I was there and that I experienced this as a woman. I think that people are taking this far too lightly, uh, the situation in Afghanistan. I think that if you are going to travel there, you need to travel there with intention and to be aware of how Afghan women and people in general are being treated and how they are under this regime. I don't think it's funny to pose with, you know, huge or to support the TB in any way. And unfortunately, I think a lot of content creators that are going there are getting to experience incredible hospitality and culture, but they're not really aware or even taking the time to look at how women and people in general are being treated under this regime. Anyway, I wish the best for her. I don't think that anybody's going to change her mind. I think she's decided it, she wants to move there. That's her choice, but I don't think that anybody is going to be able to convince her otherwise. And I also again, think that she is primarily doing this for content. So the more you feed into it, the more she's gonna post.
