If you just lost one of your AirPod, don't go buy a brand new pair. You will be literally throwing your money away. If you have the Gen 4 with noise cancellation, Pro 2, or Pro 3, you can track the case using the Find My app. But if the AirPods themselves in the case are lost and in close very close by, and still have battery, you can use the app to play a sound. But let's say you genuinely lost an AirPod. Do not go on eBay or Facebook marketplace and buy a cheaper replacement from a stranger. They're almost always just fake or stolen. The fake ones these days are really good. You cannot tell them apart. If the iCloud AirPod doesn't match the current case, it will not pair. Go straight to the official Apple support page. Select lost or missing AirPods. Replace lost AirPods. Continue. Apple will actually sell you a single replacement for the left AirPod, the right AirPod or just the case. It saves you at least $150 instead of going and buying a brand new pair. And when only a single pair arrives, don't just put it in your old case. Drop your new AirPod into the old case and let it charge. Then hold the button in the back until it flashes white and open the lid and pair it like how you normally pair AirPods.
