Everyone tells you discipline will change your life. But nobody tells you how hard it is to actually build. Welcome to lesson 5 of 21 by 21. I bet my life savings you've seen some guy on the internet telling you to wake up at 5 AM, take cold showers and meditate for 20 hours a day. And you've probably tried it. But two days in, you suck it off and feel even worse about yourself. I know that because that was literally me at 18. I'd go hard for a week and then fall back into bad habits. And I honestly thought that I just wasn't a disciplined person. Like some people have it and some people don't. But it turns out that is not how it works. Because discipline is just about building habits and sticking to them. And there was three things that actually made it stick for me. First, never miss two days in a row. One day off is fine, but two days off and you're already building a new habit. Number two, make the habit easy. Pack your gym bag the night before so you don't delay. Put your phone in another room so you can get work done. And start embarrassingly small. Instead of going a whole day without scrolling, try shaving 20 minutes off your screen time. And once you're there, the compounds and the rest just sorts itself out. Stop and be productive. You need to build good lessons. And that was lesson 5 my friends, so I will see you tomorrow for lesson 6.
