Things you didn't know about the September 11th tragedy part 6. Number 32. World Trade Center 7 collapsed completely at free fall speed 5 hours and 20 minutes after the World Trade Centers had collapsed. Most people didn't realize this happened because they were so overwhelmed with the Pentagon, Flight 93 and just the day as a whole. But this building also held a lot of files for the CIA, the FBI and a lot of different files that were actually being investigated. Now, I'm not saying that it fell for any reason other than debris. But a lot of engineers say that this building shouldn't have fallen at free fall speed. This would be the first steel structure building in history to ever fall only due to fire. They said there was structural damage on the south side from falling debris when the twin towers fell. A lot of engineers say that that shouldn't have fallen that quickly. 33. Never found blackbox recorders. One other strange thing that stood out to me is they never found the blackbox recorders from the planes that hit the towers. There were two in each plane and those are almost rarely ever found because they're made from the most indestructible materials. They're made to survive plane crashes, fires, being at the bottom of the ocean. Now, it does make sense like they went through a plane crash and two collapses. Maybe they were destroyed, maybe they were never found. But here are some items that they did find. The boarding pass of one of the hijackers that flew into the North Tower. This Nokia cellphone, I mean, they do survive everything. A couple more cellphones and a few computers. And another chilling story that stood out to me is one of the firefighters was rescuing people when he came across a lady on the sidewalk that was only from her torso up, but she was still talking like I'm not dead and she had been tagged as dead or dying. They never identified who she was or whether she had fallen from the building or something fell on her. While America was distracted by the twin towers, American Airlines Flight 77 was hijacked with 64 people on board plus the 5 hijackers and flown into the Pentagon killing 184 people in total. And there were a few weird details that people brought up like the lack of wings and lack of marks on the walls where the wings would have hit and the engine slamming into the walls. It was more of a skinny, small like hole that a plane that size probably wouldn't really fit into. But then the building collapsed later. So there wasn't a whole lot they could like prove it at that point. And this is what it looked like inside the Pentagon as they were cleaning it up. Pretty crazy. This is a photo the FBI released of the exit hole from the blast on the other side of the Pentagon. And this is the damage in the front of the building hit after the collapse. And then there was Flight 93, which was hijacked with 44 people on board, including the hijackers. But they think that that plane was going towards the capital building or the White House. But then the passengers got news that buildings in New York had been hit from hijacked planes. So they got together, made last calls to their families using the plane phones and then they tried to take the plane back from the hijackers. But ended up nose diving into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, killing everyone on board instantly. And apparently the whole plane was vaporized upon impact, but they were able to get DNA for all 44 people, which is pretty impressive. It basically left a giant crater in the ground that was 8 feet deep and about 50 feet wide. But they did find little pieces of the plane. And also one of the hijacker's passports. And rest in peace to the 2,977 people that lost their lives that day.
