Here are 3 of the most stressful thrillers I have seen. I included a word of warning, if you want to check them out too, just be warned you will be very anxious. First up is Eden Lake. This one is about a couple that goes on a romantic, peaceful weekend trip to a remote lake. But their getaway takes a dark turn when they encounter a group of local teens whose behavior becomes aggressive and unpredictable. What starts as tension and intimidation, slowly escalates into a brutal fight for survival as the couple finds themselves trapped, far from help. This movie is heavy, and will have you feeling every single emotion. You're happy for them in the beginning, a little romance side, then you're pissed and annoyed, then sad, then scared and anxious, just every emotion. I have never felt so physically sick watching a movie than I did with this one. It will keep you on edge the entire time, and this ending, this ending, if you know, you know, but that's all I'm going to say. Next up is What You Wish For. This one is about a struggling chef who's dealing with burnout and debt. So he leaves the country to meet up with an old friend who offers him a chance to step into a new and seemingly perfect life. At first, everything feels like a dream until he settles in and realizes that this vacation isn't as simple as it looks. The price of this perfect life may be more dangerous than he expected. Holy hell, I have not seen a movie that made me this anxious since Eden Lake. I was told to go in blind and I am so glad that I did because you're figuring things out alongside Ryan and you're constantly wondering what his next move will be. I don't want to say too much about this one because like I said, go in blind, don't watch a trailer, don't read up on anything because it really adds to the experience. Just be ready to be anxious the entire time. And last but not least, Mother! This one is about a woman who lives in an isolated home with her husband, who is a writer and he's dealing with a creative block. Their quiet life is disrupted when unexpected guests start showing up. As time goes on, more and more people arrive and they stay longer than they should. The house becomes increasingly chaotic and the woman's sense of safety and control starts to collapse. This movie is very disturbing and very bleak. It is a slow burn, but once the chaos ensues, it becomes a stressful and anxious ride. You will be irritated for this woman and how little self-awareness these guests have. If you get triggered easily, I'd read up on this one just to see if it's something that you can handle because there are some very disturbing things that happen. It is very psychological and it will have you pissed and stressed, so you have been warned.
