I think these really helped me stand out!!! HOBBIES -remodeled my first home / interior design -horse girl -fostering shelter animals -oil portrait painting -cake decorating -book worm RESULTS 3 Gold Signals -> 2 Interviews 25 Silver Signals -> 4 Interviews No Signal -> 1 Interview (I chose to apply aggressively and signaled mostly reach programs for location+prestige+quality of training) ...MATCHED!

Every applicant’s path is different, and there isn’t one formula for matching. Looking back, I honestly don’t think my success came from any one score, award, or publication, clinical rotation or eval... I think what made the biggest difference was rotating and interviewing at programs where I made real connections with the people there. Having mentors who knew me well and could genuinely advocate for me mattered so much more than trying to check every little box. At the end of the day, I truly believe QUALITY is way more important than QUANTITY. #medstudent #erasapplication #medicalstudent #matchday #residencymatch
