In the workplace, this will be some of the best advice you ever get, but also considered the most controversial to most people, to the NPCs, to the non-playable characters, to the people who have been totally indoctrinated and are corporate conformers. They will wage slaves. They will think this is controversial, but it is the best advice you will ever get. And it sums up why I talk about what I talk about. Stop going in early and staying late. Be the last one in first one out. Stop going above and beyond. It does nothing. Stop working physically hard because the donkey does not own the farm. Stop chasing job titles and promotions. When many of you wake up, most mental health problems stem from overcommitment, overserving your employer, getting nothing back. Loyalty is a one-way street, which is why you shouldn't devote it. You end up having problems with co-workers and God knows what else because you overshare, you feel the need to tell them everything about your life, and then down the road, they leverage and manipulate against you with the information that you willingly gave them. You need to wake up. Most mental health problems stem from the workplace, burnout, anxiety, being apprehensive, the Sunday dread feeling, not feeling like you're in control of your own time or your finances because you have given your entire being. You have associated your entire identity to your workplace, which is why I say walk slow, stop accepting the belittling title of step-up role. Build something for yourself. A business is not daunting, it's not scary, it's not some big, you know, you don't have to have a limited company with hundreds of millions of pounds going through it. Build something on the side that claims back who you are. That allows you to chase purpose, be fulfilled in your life. We are here for a blip. So yes, controversial to many. Some people will never wake up. They're the NPCs. But yes, stop going in early, stop justifying it. Stop saying that well, I have bills to pay. It's just all nonsense. Yes, we have things to pay for, but justifying why you keep going in early is not the done thing. Stop accepting what is not normal. Well, I spent 40 hours with my co-workers, so I might as well buy into the work family. No. Your real family first. Stop chasing materialistic job titles and salaries. Time is the thing that you want. A job will never give you time, it will only steal it. Wake the f*ck up.
