In the workplace, this is the one sign you must quit your job and leave as soon as you can. If you clock out and you go home, you're with your partner, your family, your children, and all you think about is the toxic environment in which you work. It's game over. If your children are trying to play with you and you just cannot concentrate, you are not present. Your partner is trying to talk to you, but you can't hear what she's saying or what he's saying because all you can think about is the bully manager that you've got to see next week. The co-worker that won't stop picking on you, the harassment, the micromanaging, the damage that it is doing to your mental health. The weekend comes around and it's Sunday, and you have that apprehensive feeling, that dread. You haven't even had a weekend. You haven't had Saturday off because you've spent Saturday and Sunday worrying about Monday. Or whatever shift you work. If your workplace has got you to that point where you are losing it, you go in Monday morning and you walk through the work doors and you play a character. It's all fake now for the next 8 to 10 hours. You have an alter ego, your lost identity. You don't even know who you are because you're playing up to who you should be so that you don't get picked on even more. If there's no value, if there's no respect in the workplace, it is time to leave. Game over. Done. But experiencing this? If you go home and all you can think about is the fact that you've got bills to pay, but you don't want to see that person, that manager, that co-worker. I don't want to see them. There's no need to go to HR, there's no need to take a grievance, there's no need to join a union. You and that workplace are done. No job, no promotion, no salary is worth losing your mental health. And if you are playing a character, leave. I hope this video hits home with some of you because I know many of you struggle and you have this twisting gut-wrenching feeling that is weighing on you. It makes you actually feel physically sick. If that's you, take my words. Leave and look for another one. I don't know what you're going to do between leaving and getting another job, you'll figure it out. But if you're losing this, it's game over. Done. But time to leave.
