Here are some money habits that you're not gonna like but they have made a huge difference in my finances. Number one, I do not shop on Amazon. I haven't bought from Amazon since 2024. If I ever need something to be shipped within two days, that is just poor planning on my part. On Amazon or that I can find literally anywhere else, I will just go without. I like to remind myself that I am an adult. I don't need everything I want. Number two, I don't drink alcohol. It's expensive. It makes me feel terrible. I don't have to pay for drinks or an Uber ride home or late night takeout. I am perfectly happy being the DD. No one even notices that I'm not drinking alcohol anyway because we still have fun. Number three, I pay for everything using I love my points and I love getting cashback. Number four, I manually track every single dollar I make and spend. I've done this for over eight years now. This is the habit that has been the most impactful on my finances. I can see exactly what my plan is for the year. I know if I'm sticking to my goals, and it's the thing that really motivated me to earn more money because I was looking at my finances and I'm like, I can't accomplish the things that I want to accomplish with my current income. It just kicked me in the booty to like, go out there and make more money. And number five, I do a No Buy Quarter every single year to front-load my investments. No shopping, no coffee shops, no restaurants, no nothing for three whole months. Now am I 100% perfect? No, but I am like 95% and I'm able to make so much progress in just three months.
