Victim mentality parenting is WILD. Unhealed boomer mom incoming. Three years of silence. And the thing that makes her want to finally reach out isn't missing her kid, it's missing the event. Whoa, three years of silence. And the thing that makes her want to finally reach out isn't missing her kid, it's missing the event. That was scoreboard language. That tells you she thinks that her kid made a move in a game, but no contact is leaving the game. And this fantasy message that she wants to send is nothing about repair. No congratulations, I miss you, I've been thinking about what you've been saying over the years, how are you? No, it's just another argument waiting to happen, dripping in a victim mentality. No contact isn't a punishment, it's a consequence to your actions. Ah, yes, the convenient amnesia. My mom used to love this one. She doesn't know what she's done because she can't listen, because she's too busy saying things like, that never happened, I never said that, that's not what I meant, why are you so sensitive? Sound familiar? This variety of parenting is allergic to accountability and incapable of repair, and without repair, there's no relationship. This is the same woman who went viral for dancing, claiming victory for moving on to find true happiness after her kid finally cut her off. So finding that happiness must not be going very well if you still want to pick up the phone and argue and rob your child of a happy moment that you missed because of how you behave. So what is it? Ma'am, it's called no contact. You had your chance, in fact you probably had thousands of chances that started in their childhood. But the unhealed, specifically boomer, variety of parents, not all boomers are bad, but this variety, they can never admit to fault. These unhealed parents demand respect based on hierarchy, and they act however they want. But the second we grow up and ask them to self-reflect on the times that they've hurt us, every conversation turns into an argument. And what's destroying families isn't these ungrateful, estranged kids who think they're better than you, it's a skills gap where you all just don't know how to repair. And before you say, just wait till you're a mom, I am a mom. I adore my children, and one day if they were to choose to go no contact, I would not be dancing. I would be reflecting and taking it seriously, because if they go no contact, it's my fault. I'm super proud of whoever this woman's kid is. I hope the wedding was great. I hope you had the time of your life, knowing that there was nobody there who keeps score, because I know how hard of a decision that probably was. And judging by everything else on that woman's page, you made the right decision. You're not crazy. I love you. Bye.
