If you're in your 20s and you're looking to move to a new city, it should check these 3 boxes. Number one, year-round sunshine and warm weather because who wants to deal with winter six months out of the year where the sun goes down at four and there's ice all over the roads and you can't drive and you have to brush off your car? Pass. Number two, you have to be by a body of water. Why would you move to the South and then live in Atlanta or Charlotte where there's no river, no bay, no ocean? Having water in the city that you live in so you can walk to the riverwalk like in Tampa or walk along the bay or the ocean in San Diego makes life so much more enjoyable. And that brings me to number three, live in a walkable city. Don't move to Los Angeles or Dallas where you have to walk literally a mile and a half to get to the closest restaurant. Live somewhere like Tampa where you can live in Channelside or Water Street and have 20 plus restaurants, bars, grocery stores, cafes, things to do within a mile walking distance. It makes life so much more enjoyable. Listen, San Diego, Tampa, Charleston, somewhere with sunshine, year-round, somewhere with sunshine, a body of water and a walkable area to live in, your life will get 10 times better. Trust me when it's February and you can go to the beach and walk to dinner after you get home from the beach and take a little nap, makes things 10 times better.
