What do pilots know that we don't?

Have you ever thought about like what pilots and flight attendants know that they're not allowed to tell the general public? You know, like me and you? Cause I think about that all the time. I was on a flight to New York one time at like 10 o'clock. And it was dark outside and I had a window seat. But I couldn't find anything to watch on the screen in front of me. So I was just looking out the window, being nosy. Tell me why this flight attendant came up to me and said, "Sir, the captain requested that all shades on the windows stay down." I gave her pushback. I said, "I'm just looking out the window." She goes, "The captain said all shades to the windows must be down or some shit like that." Whatever. I waited until she walked away. I looked out the window. I was like, "What y'all trying to hide? Or their islands out there?" And it happened again on a flight from Atlanta to Denver. This time I was taking Southwest instead of Delta. It was like 10 o'clock at night. The flight attendant came up to me and says, "Sir, you need to shut your shades." I said, "Why?" She goes, "The captain requested all shades to the windows be shut." Why? What y'all not wanting us to see from 35,000 feet up? But it really makes you think like, what shit have they seen that they're not allowed to tell the general public? I've watched so many interviews where people will talk to retired pilots and they'll straight up ask them, they'll be like, "So, is the world flat or is it curved?" And I swear more than half of them said, "It's flat." You'll get a strike. I don't know. I was just thinking about that. I got to go. I'll call you back later.
