This stunning, three story space is the newer, younger sister of Kyma (and Scarpetta) and it’s the hottest new restaurant of the summer📍@Selene #nycrestaurants #nycopenings #sohonyc #greekfood #nycnights One of New York City's hottest new restaurants feels like a trip to the Greek islands and it's basically dinner and a night out all in one. It's coming from industry vets behind Kyma and Scarpetta with an iconic pink velvet staircase for the ultimate photo op. Starting up strong with complimentary bread and some very tropical and refreshing cocktails. The classic Kyma like zucchini and eggplant chips, super thin and crispy. And I love the meze and then confirm their hummus hit the spot. The seafood here is what really stands out. This tuna crudo topped with caviar and the wagyu truffle carpaccio which was so buttery and flavorful. And I feel like you can't go to a Greek restaurant without having saganaki or the Greek salad. Their whole fresh fish, baked in sea salt, Kyma highly recommended. And I am so glad we got this. I was also intrigued by their short rib over orzo and this was giant and so tender. Their lobster spaghetti with the most addicting tomato sauce and a must order. The fries are also so good. Now for dessert, their Kataifi with shredded filo like cream and toasted pistachio was my favorite. Their black cherry cheesecake with a cookie crust was a close second. They're opening their rooftop soon and this is easily the place to be this summer.
