the problem with F.I.R.E. (financial independence retire early)

the problem with F.I.R.E. (financial independence retire early) FIRE at all costs is not a sustainable way to live. And if you haven't heard of FIRE, it stands for financial independence retire early and it's a big movement in a very niche area of personal finance which basically promises that you can stop working once you hit a certain amount of money invested. And often times this leads to a lot of people being super frugal in the present, sacrificing all sorts of life enjoyment just so that you can achieve an X amount of money and completely stop working. I actually bought into this concept for a little bit when I first learned about it, but then I quickly realised like what is the point of sacrificing your daily joys or things that make you happy just for an arbitrary future? Most people are trying to escape the rat race when they're pursuing FIRE, but the actual act of pursuing FIRE at all costs is actually a bigger rat race in itself. I would much rather personally to live a good life now rather than sacrifice everything just for an ambiguous future. And I think it's just also as important to enjoy the journey and not just focus solely on your destination.
