Oh my god After many years of coming to Montreal I finally got up early enough to go to Bernie Beigne and get their apple fritters this morning too. So let's do a taste test. I'm not even kidding, they open at 10 and by like 10:15 the line was packed and these were flying off the shelves. So I'm very excited. Now, I've been to Bernie Beigne many times. Their donuts are probably the best donuts I've ever had in my entire life and I don't use that statement very lightly. All the donuts there are fresh, like you can literally see them in the window and they were making the apple fritters this morning too. That being said, I typically go for the glaze when I go there and they're chocolate donuts. The guy who worked there was kind enough to throw on a Simpsons donut so we'll try that one out today as well. But the main focus is the apple fritter. Get into that. Oh, it's literally bigger than my head. Are you kidding me? Okay, cheers. Oh my god, I was not expecting that. This is why I love Montreal. They just get how to do pastries. I cannot stress you enough that I am not a wait in line kind of person, but this apple fritter, I fear every time I come to Montreal now, I will have to line up outside Bernie Beigne to get this apple fritter because this is crazy. Oh, it has the perfect crunchiness to the edge because the glaze also hardened on it. Not to mention the apple is like the right kind of apple where it's not so overpowering and sweet when you get like a cavity. Let's try the Simpsons donut. Oh. Oh my god. I was not expecting that. This is why I love Montreal. They just get how to do pastries. I cannot stress you enough that I am not a wait in line kind of person, but this apple fritter, I fear every time I come to Montreal now, I will have to line up outside Bernie Beigne to get this apple fritter because this is crazy.
