I am my own dream girl. So yes, I have a dream man. I've gone to the best schools, I've worked at the biggest companies in the world. I've been the youngest person in my role at every single job I've ever had. And in my current role at one of the biggest tech companies that exist, I'm the only black person in the world in that role. I have never once in my life looked at something I wanted and decided it was unavailable to me. Not a school, not a job, not an apartment, not a city. Why would my love life be different? I have a dream man because I have unmoving standards on what I'm willing to accept for a partnership. It doesn't mean I'm waiting on my hands and knees for some perfect man to come save me. All that it means is that I know exactly what I want and I'm not going to accept less than that. Saying I think he's my dream man just means he's passed all of my initial checks and I'm excited to get to know him. When a viable option presents itself, I'm always going to show up with hope and with standards because that's the only way to get the outcome you actually want. This defeatist attitude of not even being able to imagine anything good is a loser's mentality. And I suggest you all snap out of that spell before it permeates into all other aspects of your life. I went on one date and was optimistic about it. That's not embarrassing. That's just having enough self-esteem to believe that what I want exists and is available to me. I would suggest you all find the same.
