I wore silent bracelets today. I did not wear bangles because I knew that they clank, clank, clank, clank, clank, clank, clank. And that especially for men is very distracting and it takes away from your competence. It has nothing to do with competence. In fact, having an expensive bangle could be perceived as more competent. That distraction is almost like an audible self-touch. It's like you're hearing it. Self-touch is fixing our hair, fixing our earrings, tucking our hair. So anytime you are self-touching, it's going to read as you are nervous or do you like me? So in a business context, I do not want you self-touching at all. Your hair, your jewelry, your clothing should be able to live as they are, especially if all eyes are on you.
