Most guys walk into chest day and pick lifts based on what machine is open. That is why your chest has not changed in a year. Chest order matters more than the lifts themselves. Your pressing strength peaks in the first 20 minutes of the session, and whatever you train first gets the most stimulus. Train it in the wrong order and you leave growth on the table. 1. Flat barbell bench, 4 sets of 6, heavy. This is your heaviest press, so it goes first while your central nervous system is fresh. Progressive overload lives here. 2. Incline dumbbell press, 3 sets of 8 to 10. Upper chest lags on almost every guy, which is why it earns the second slot instead of getting tacked on at the end when you are already fried. 3. Cable flys, 3 sets of 12 to 15, slow and stretched. Finisher work. Stretched position under load is where the fibers get the deepest signal to grow, and you do not need heavy weight to do it. Every chest day, same order: bench, incline, flys. Stop rotating lifts randomly every week. That is not variety, that is just avoiding progression.
