The order you hit glute exercises decides how much of each one actually reaches the muscle you care about. Most people walk in and do whatever machine is open, then wonder why growth stalls. The fix is fatigue management. You put the movement that demands the most force and stability first, while you are fresh, and you save the low-skill high-rep work for last when you are already tired. 1. Hip thrusts first, 4x8. This is your heaviest, most direct glute loading. Do it first so you can actually push weight and drive progressive overload week to week. 2. Romanian deadlifts, 3x10. Now you hit the glutes through a stretch with hamstring involvement. Still demanding, but it does not need the same peak output as thrusts. 3. Split squats, 3x10 each leg. Unilateral work catches the side that lags and adds knee-flexion range the first two movements skip. 4. Back extensions, 3x15. End here on purpose. The heavy work is done, so you finish with high reps and a hard squeeze, no barbell required. This order is the difference between a glute day that builds and one that just makes you sore.
