3 financial habits that changed my relationship with money as someone in her mid-20s who used to suffer from extreme financial anxiety. And no, none of them are giving up buying iced lattes. I will never do that. If you've seen my videos before, then you already know that I budget every single paycheck I make and assign every single dollar to a different purpose. So I divided into two sections like savings for my first home, rent, student loans, travel, and spending money. Building off of that, my second habit is that I have individual sinking funds. This is one of the most commonly asked questions I get on my paycheck videos, which is how does the division of a paycheck actually work? I don't just have one savings account. I have separate savings accounts within my bank for different goals. And these are the accounts to build up my sinking fund so that when things like trips or emergencies happen, I have an allocated account for that. Some banks do charge you to have more than one savings account. Personally don't, but I have upwards of like 10 accounts. The third habit is probably the scariest and that is investing in the stock market. I use well simple for this because you can take a quiz and answer a bunch of questions and they will pick and for you. I have started to investing. I literally started by investing 5 to 10 dollars a week until I got more and gradually increased that amount over time. These are three habits that have helped me feel much more in managing my money and have helped me start to see what my long-term goals might be.
