I just got paid $2,665.61 and one cent, so let's budget my paycheck together. For context, I'm a 26-year-old, I live in Ottawa, work in communications and I get paid bi-weekly. If you saw my recent solo Saturday video, then you know that I had a little fun unplanned day to myself and I did not budget for that, so I need to pay off my credit card. I'm going to put $270 and one cent on my credit card. Every time I get paid, I put half of my monthly rent into my high interest to savings account, so that's going to be $850. I also have a first home savings account, which I have and I'm going to transfer $400. I'm going to put $50 into my student loan sinking fund. I'm always actively saving for travel. It's a big priority for me, so I'm going to put $200 into my travel account. And also another really big priority for me is my emergency savings. I do a lot of like side hustle and freelance work and I don't get taxed on any of it, so I always make sure I have a really full emergency savings account. So I'm going to put $200 there. This is a new category I'm introducing. I've kind of been hesitant to share this because like, this is very, very far off goal, but surely for some land, I'm going to put $50 in that account, which is also in wealth simple. Also new category for me. I do pay into my pension through my actual job, but I do have my own RRSP. It's beneficial for me to have and like who's to say I'm going to be with my current employer for my entire career. So this is something I want to start doing. I'm starting pretty small though, putting $50 into my RRSP, which is also with wealth simple. I'm heading on a trip in a couple of days and I knew that there were a few things I wanted to stock up on before I left. So I put $150 into my spending account, and in the time that I'm filming this video, it is all gone. Knowing me, that leaves me with $445. So this is what I consider my budget for the next two weeks. I am, however, going to be on vacation for half of this period, and in which case, I'll probably be from my travel account and my parents will probably be paying for a lot of stuff. So this remaining amount is a little bit less than normal, and it'll all work out. And that's how I budget my paycheck.
