The only school supplies you actually need in college. Girls especially tend to overdo back to school shopping because who doesn't want the all pink theme? Who doesn't want 25 pastel highlighters? But I promise you, you won't touch half the stuff that you just bought at Target. So let's go return that and here's what you need. First, you're gonna want to invest in a good quality laptop. This is non-negotiable. Now the big question, do you need an iPad? For some majors, according to my roommate, you're going to want one. I'm in humanities, I love my iPad so much, I use it every day. I will say that it's worth it, but if it's not in your budget, you can always save and get it later. A pack of Ticonderoga number two pencils. You haven't seen one of these since middle school, but you're gonna want them for scantrons. A good eraser, I highly recommend the plastic Japanese erasers. Test color pens, so I'm talking black and dark blue, other colors are optional. A backpack, and yes, you're actually going to want one. I love my tote bag so much, but when it comes to final season and I'm hunched over a computer for hours at a time, my entire body aches, a backpack literally is my life saver. An insulated water bottle, so like a Yeti, a Stanley, whatever you want. Folder, I only have one, it works perfectly fine for me unless you have like a ridiculous amount of papers, I think one is fine. And one college rule notebook, unless you have a crazy anti-track professor, you only need one. There's always that one class where you're like, okay, time to do a written warm-up and nobody has a piece of paper. So it's nice to have. Sharpies, not only for school but also miscellaneous things that you need a Sharpie for. Nobody ever has a Sharpie. So scissors, they're in the school supply aisle, but nobody thinks to bring them to college, but they're so helpful for like opening boxes and random things like that. And last but not least, two highlighters. Literally pick two colors and that is all you need. All right, that's it. Hopefully this was helpful.
