If you're facing a difficult day (or series of them), I want to encourage you: Your brain is designed to thrive and become more resilient not by avoiding difficult circumstances, but because of having faced them. That means your brain literally gets stronger when you endure challenges. God built you this way intentionally: he doesn't call you to anything without equipping you for it. And as far as your nervous system goes, he promised that hardship makes you stronger and more hopeful (Romans 5:3-4), that he gave you a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7), and that he gave you everything you need for your life (II Peter 1:7). So take some deep breaths, let them out slowly, activate your vagus nerve and frontal lobes, and let's get this day done. Praying for you, and with you in the fight. Check out my new book to learn more about self-brain surgery. Send this to someone who's in the fight. And save it for the next time you need to remember that you're built for this. #selfbrainsurgery #neuroscience #neurosurgery #faithandscience
