If you've ever asked about being proficient in Excel, I want you to hit them with this. Sometimes when I download reports, I get all this formatting that makes it hard to work in this worksheet. Hit control A to select everything and then go alt H E F, clear all the formatting. And that gets rid of all the merge cells and all the formatting that was within this report.
