Remember, during COVID, there was this group of people who used that time to absolutely lock in. They started the workout routines, they cooked the recipes. They did all those things they never had the chance to do. And then there was this other group of people, kind of in the opposite camp, of I lost motivation, I ate poorly, and I gained weight. I think it's a really interesting case study for what happens when you remove the structure and routine that people are used to. For some people, that's when they thrive. These are people who rely more on internal structure. They'll find the time and space and they'll make it happen. They'll figure out how to get those goals done. And then this other group of people, it's not that they're less than, or not as motivated. It's that the external structures, the deadlines, the social support, the pressure, that's what actually helps them thrive. Not the time and space to turn inward. So if you look back at that time and what it did for your own self-development, it can tell you something about your own ideal environments and motivation patterns. If that was the time that you locked in, freedom is your ideal environment. And if you struggled, maybe your brain doesn't need more space and time, it needs, it needs structure.
