If you want to get financially ahead, I would focus on doing this one thing. I would not focus on building my emergency fund. Instead, I would focus on getting one month ahead on my bills. If your monthly expenses are $2,000 a month, then I would focus on saving my first $2,000 for my checking account so that I'm ahead on my bills. This is going to break the cycle from being paycheck to paycheck to paycheck to paycheck, and then it's gonna make you feel financially ahead. When you're paycheck to paycheck, you are penny-pinching and you're not able to save or build an emergency fund. Once you are on your bills, this is gonna give you some breathing room. This is gonna allow you to feel like you are financially stable and this is how you are going to get ahead financially. So focus on ahead on your bills and then focus on building your emergency fund. This is the tip that I recommend if you are someone that wants to feel like they are financially ahead.
