I'm starting my second year of medical school this Monday and I'm trying to set some non-negotiables for myself this year because last year I don't know what happened to me but it made me not excited for school anymore because every time it's fall and it's the beginning of a school year or end of summer, I'm usually very giddy. I'm very excited to start school even if I'm not truly excited, like the idea of starting school gets me kind of like up and at it and like I'm happy about it. But I'll complain throughout the year. Don't get me wrong. I'll complain till the cows come home. I'll complain while I'm enjoying myself in school, you know, because that's who I am. But this time, I don't know, like I think I was just so stressed out in a way I've never been during my first year of medical school and I felt so incompetent, but like I wasn't doing enough, even though I was doing everything I had to do that this year, I don't feel excited about it. So I'm trying to figure out like things I can do to make it not super miserable. So if you know anything about your second year of med school, typically speaking, it is the year you finish up your didactic or basically preclinical exams, or like, you know, when you're in school and then you take your step one exam or your USMLE and then you move on to clinicals. And so like you're running around in the hospital and stuff. And so like, it's a lot in one year. It's very, very stressful, obviously. But I think after last year, I realized if I am miserable the entire time, there's a chance I'm not getting through it, you know? So I've got to figure out what I can do to make it not suck. Like little things. So if you have any ideas, please let me know.
