RIP UNIT TESTS 💀

No one writes unit tests anymore. Not one software engineer manually writes tests. We generate them. That was the first thing that got automated as software engineers. No one writes tests. I'll to the point where I'll say at the biggest tech companies that you think the code that's that's immaculate, that's untouchable, so high quality. I don't think anyone reads the unit test. I don't even think the author of the pull request reads the unit test. As long as they pass, as long as you put the checkbox that, yeah, I wrote unit tests, that's it. It's done. Like these are straight vibe coded. And this is where I'll say, you maxers, bro, you win. I'll never write another unit test in my entire life manually. Used. I used to write them all the time in Java, all the time in Spring Boot. I used to spend weeks trying to get 100% test coverage on my code through unit tests. And I don't do anymore. I don't care about it. You want to know why? AI wrote unit tests. It did. No software engineer writes unit tests. I am anti-AI for a lot of things. And you guys know that. But I will admit, unit tests got automated. No one cares about unit tests anymore. I mean, a unit test can fail and it'll tell you a lot about the code that you have implemented. But beyond that, you are not sitting there writing test going, it is always going to be AI generated every single time in 2026.
