If you are planning a trip to the Vatican, save this video. I get comments and DMs every single day asking about the Sistine Chapel, Vatican tickets and exactly what is free and what needs a ticket. So here is everything that I recommend booking. Number one, we have Saint Peter's Basilica. So the Basilica itself is completely free to enter. You'll have to go through security, but you don't need a ticket. Number two, the Sistine Chapel. So if you want to see the Sistine Chapel, you need a ticket to the Vatican Museums. You cannot visit it on its own. Number three, the Vatican Museums. The Vatican Museums are super popular, so I do recommend booking in advance. Personally, I would choose a guided tour because you'll get so much more out of the experience. I've linked to my favorite Vatican Museum tours in my bio. I do recommend booking early mornings. Number four, the Papal Audience. So if you want to see the Pope and receive a Papal blessing, you'll need a ticket, but the tickets themselves are free. I recommend booking a guided experience for that because they'll pick up your ticket and they'll actually walk you through everything that's going on in while you're waiting since most people do arrive hours early anyways. I think it's well worth it. I've linked to that in my bio as well. Number five, we have the Dome Climb, the dome or Cupola of Saint Peter's Basilica has one of the most epic views in all of Rome. I have linked to my favorite dome climb experience in my bio as well. And number six, the Vatican Necropolis or Scavi Tour. scavi.va. If you want to visit what is believed to be Saint Peter's tomb, which is beneath the Basilica, you'll need a separate reservation and this is the website. Number seven, the Vatican Gardens. The Vatican Gardens are one of my favorite hidden gems in all of Rome. The ticket includes a relaxing mini bus tour through the gardens before your visit to the Vatican Museums. It's a really really nice break from the crowds and I'd recommend booking hours before you intend to enter the Vatican Museums because it actually comes your admission to get into the museums afterward. I've actually put the links to everything I mentioned in this video in my bio to make planning your Vatican visit a little bit easier. Save this video and let me know in the comments if you have any other Vatican questions.
