I spent 130 euros on Italy's most expensive train seat. Let's go see if it's worth it. Our executive class Trenitalia journey starts in the lounge. It's pretty similar to an airport lounge, but they have plastic glassware. You can sit here with Wi-Fi and air conditioning while you wait for your platform number to be displayed. It's time to head to the train now. Staff are supposed to help you with your luggage in this section. I guess I didn't look like an executive today. Looked my own bag on while they checked my ticket to make sure I was actually supposed to be seated here. How embarrassing. Realized I had indeed boarded the correct carriage. Everyone was really welcoming. I guess the Rome to Naples trains use an older executive carriage, so the seats don't swivel 180 degrees like they do on routes such as Rome to Milan, but they're still incredibly spacious and comfortable. Executive Class includes a full a la carte menu and an open bar. Whatever you like throughout the entire journey. And unlike Italo, which somehow never seems to have Prosecco when I book club executive, Trenitalia was fully stocked. I also love that everything is served on real China with proper glassware instead of disposable cups. It makes the whole experience feel a little more special.
