I don't think many people need the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Here's everything new compared to the 17 Pro Max. You now get variable aperture lens, which is nice. If you know what it does, if you don't, you don't need it. The dynamic island is smaller. Better colors. You get rum burgundy, black iPhone makes it come back. Because I don't know why they left. Apparently bigger battery. Probably like 30 minutes worth. This is fine. I don't think anyone was complaining about the battery life on the 17 Pros this year. The thing that puts you off. The price. You probably noticed Apple bumped up the prices on a few of their items. And phones are next. You're looking at a $200 to $300 increase. 17 Pro Max is already starting at 1199. You're paying potentially 13 to 1499 for the tax on the same phone. And that's literally because there's just a shortage of shit right now. But I don't think they're compensating for it in any way. They would have given you these features regardless of whether this shit was going on or not. I think 13 Pro and under, get what you want. But even then, I would almost recommend you get the 17 Pro Max used. If you're able to put prices aside, you're still really only getting colors and a variable aperture lens which you're both things that not anyone really needs. This is a skippable year. That's my point. Make it nice. Make it look shiny. Again, it was nice. It was nice. It was disappointing. It's disappointing.
