STAT THAT SAID 81% of college students select their major based on their passion. As a first gen college graduate, I had a different perspective going through that because it was always about getting a job, making money and just having that, cause like I, I grew up with rats running in my house. Um, I think I moved like 15 different times and it wasn't apartments to like rent out somebody's one room in their, it was me, my brother, we were sleeping in one room and I would cause that was the space that we had. So I grew up poor and I knew that I wanted to make money and get a return on my investment for going to college, especially if I needed to help out my family, especially if I wanted to have the future and all those things. Was always like, my passion was the money that was going to come into my wallet. And I feel like a lot of people don't take that approach of, what is the ROI that I'm gonna get on my degree? It was almost like a disguise that I just didn't have that option to pursue cause I was so focused on just making money. And now 12 years into my career, I've been able to be afforded a lot of flexibility. I'm able to leave work when I want, spend time with my family. I have the flexibility to work and and all because I majored and I took really just like, I'm gonna build a foundation for myself. Really get everything out of the studying. I say I love accounting because it has given me so much in my life. And a lot of students are coming out of college without a job and then you can't like, you get into credit card debt. And so I gotta have that, I think going in to fit, figure out a major, whether it's accounting or something else that's gonna give you a good ROI. I can't say enough about like how great accounting has been to me and the things that I've been able to do in my job. So it helps. Definitely have to have the mindset shift if you're about different majors. Um, you know, just just keep that in mind. And if you do want more accounting advice, follow, leave like and comment.
