8 things you CAN'T take into Disney World 🚫 And I guarantee at least ONE of these will surprise you... 👀 Planning a Disney trip? SAVE THIS before you pack your park bag. 📌 1. Stroller wagons 🚫 Even if you use it as a stroller... stroller wagons aren't allowed in Disney World theme parks or water parks. And regular strollers can't be larger than: 31" (79cm) wide x 52" (132cm) long. 💜 PARENT TIP: If you're buying or hiring a stroller specifically for Disney, check the measurements before your holiday — particularly large doubles. 2. Selfie sticks 🚫 Yep. Leave it at the hotel. Selfie sticks and handheld extension poles for cameras or phones aren't permitted in Disney's theme parks or water parks. 📸 BUT: Your normal phone/camera is absolutely fine — and certain compact tripods are permitted, provided they meet Disney's rules. Your 0.5 castle selfie will have to do. 😂 3. Folding chairs 🚫 Thinking of taking a little folding chair for waiting for the parade or fireworks? Don't. Folding chairs aren't permitted in Disney World theme parks, water parks or Disney Springs. So unfortunately... the Main Street kerb remains premium Disney real estate. 😂 4. Loose or dry ice 🚫 This is one I think will surprise people. You CAN bring a cooler into Disney... but you CAN'T bring loose or dry ice inside it. Disney recommends reusable ice packs instead. Cups of ice are also available free at Food & Beverage locations PACKING TIP: Freeze a couple of reusable ice packs overnight and pop them in your cooler before leaving. 5. Glass containers 🚫 Bringing your own snacks and drinks? Absolutely. But glass containers generally aren't allowed inside the parks. There is an exception for small containers such as baby-food jars. So decant anything you need into park-friendly containers before you leave your accommodation. One less surprise at Security. 🙏 6. Balloons... at Animal Kingdom! 🚫 This is my favourite "I didn't know that!" one. Balloons aren't permitted at: 🦁 Disney's Animal Kingdom 🏨 Animal Kingdom Lodge 💧 Disney water parks 🥇 ESPN Wide World of Sports So if you've bought your child a gorgeous Mickey balloon at Magic Kingdom... don't bring it along to Animal Kingdom the next day. 7. Plastic straws... ALSO at Animal Kingdom! 🚫 Another surprisingly specific rule. Plastic straws aren't permitted at: 🦁 Disney's Animal Kingdom 🏨 Animal Kingdom Lodge 💧 Disney water parks That includes one you've brought yourself. So check what's lurking at the bottom of your park bag before Animal Kingdom day. 👀 8. Full costumes if you're 14+ 🚫 Your four-year-old can absolutely arrive dressed as their favourite princess. Mum? Not so fast, Cinderella. 😂 Under Disney's general park rules, guests aged 14 and over can't wear costumes in the theme parks, water parks or ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Special events such as Halloween parties have their own specific costume guidelines. Disneybounding, however — outfits inspired by characters using regular clothing — is a different thing.
