Disney World has its own way of doing things… and some of it is definitely NOT obvious before your first trip. 😂 🚗 Magic Kingdom parking — if you’re driving, arriving at the car park doesn’t mean you’ve arrived at the park entrance. You’ve still got the journey from the TTC to Magic Kingdom. ⚡ Lightning Lane — it means a shorter queue for eligible attractions, NOT necessarily no queue at all. 🏰 Park Hopper — gives you the option to visit more than one park in a day. It doesn’t mean you have to hop just because you’ve paid for it. 🚌 Disney transportation — Disney World is HUGE and there isn’t always a direct route between the two places you’re trying to get to. Allow more time than you think! ⏰ Early Theme Park Entry — eligible guests currently get 30 minutes of early entry, but that doesn’t mean every attraction in the park is operating during that time. 🎢 Rider Switch — one child not riding doesn’t necessarily mean one parent has to miss the attraction too. You DON'T park outside Magic Kingdom You might expect: Park -> walk to entrance -> done. Not at Magic Kingdom! 😂 If you're driving, you'll park at the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC) and then travel across to Magic Kingdom by monorail or ferryboat. ⭐ WHY IT MATTERS: Allow extra time — arriving at the car park does NOT mean you've arrived at the park! LIGHTNING LANE ⚡ 2. Lightning Lane does NOT mean "no queue" You're paying to use a shorter queue for eligible attractions — not to walk straight onto the ride. You may still have a wait. ⭐ WHY IT MATTERS: Lightning Lane can save valuable time, but don't plan your day assuming every ride will be instant. 💜 And remember: not every family needs it. PARK HOPPER 🦹‍♀️➡️🌍 3. Park Hopper doesn't mean you HAVE to hop Park Hopper gives you the option to visit more than one park in a day. It doesn't mean you need to use it every day! ⭐ WHY IT MATTERS: Hopping takes time. If everyone is happy where they are... STAY THERE. 😂 Don't disrupt a great Disney day just because you feel like "should" use something you've paid for. DISNEY TRANSPORT 🚌 4. Disney transport isn't always DIRECT... or quick! Disney World is HUGE. And there isn't direct Disney transport between every two places you might want to visit. Some journeys may involve a connection — particularly when travelling between resorts. ⭐ WHY IT MATTERS: Going somewhere for dinner? Don't assume: "It's all Disney — we'll leave 20 mins before." 😂 Check your route AND allow plenty of time. EARLY ENTRY ⏰ 5. Early Entry doesn't mean EVERYTHING opens early Eligible Disney Resort and select hotel guests currently get 30-minute Early Theme Park Entry. But it's for select attractions, shops and dining — not necessarily everything in the park. ⭐ WHY IT MATTERS: Check what's available BEFORE deciding what you'll head to first. Those 30 minutes can disappear very quickly! RIDERSWITCH 🧓‍♀️👶 6. One child not riding doesn't mean a parent has to miss out If someone in your party can't or doesn't want to ride, you may be able to use Rider Switch. One adult waits with the non-rider while the others ride... then YOU SWITCH. 🔄 The waiting adult can then ride without starting again in the full standby queue. ⭐ WHY IT MATTERS: Don't automatically cross a ride off because one child isn't riding.
