5 things my parents did that got me and my twin sister into Harvard Number one is unlimited iPad time Number one is unlimited iPad time, which may seem kind of contradictory, but basically they gave us unlimited iPad time as long as number one, we got all A's and number two, we did all our homework. This was really nice because it kind of gives us that freedom with the iPad, but also made us keep up with our schoolwork. Number two is that we went to the library every single day. So basically both my parents worked full-time jobs, they both owned stores, but after school, they would pick us up, drop us off at the library, work until like 7, and then we would be reading there in the library, playing on the computers, but mostly reading. And then they would pick us up from the library around 7 and we would go home. Number three is that we both had to play instruments. And this was non-negotiable. Number four is that they were really, really strict on grades. My parents weren't strict on any other regard, but when it came to grades, they made sure to A+. Number five is that they helped us with college applications. They were really knowledgeable on college applications and they really helped me through that process. I was applying to 30 plus schools and my twin sister was applying to 40 plus and then they helped us with things like deadlines, fast tracking information to other documents. This one kind of seems like a given, but I really hear so many stories about people having to do the financial aid information about themselves, all the document stuff by themselves. So I'm really grateful for my parents for that.
