Here's a breakdown and some layout inspiration for the Hobonichi weeks as we head into launch month. First thing first, the paper is 52G s.m. Tomoe River paper. It's incredibly thin paper, but it's well loved because it's known to hold ink well. You will experience ghosting, which is when you can see pen marks on the other side of the page. But there should not be any bleed through. The Hobonichi weeks paper is cream coloured, which is different than the Hobonichi cousin, which is white. The first few pages are calendars. You get the multi year and then a year at a glance where you get a small box for every day of the year. After this, it goes into the months and it starts in December of the current year. So your 2027 Hobonichi weeks will have December of 2026. It also has the first three months of the following year as well. So you'll get January through March of 2028. Now, after you get through all of the monthlies, it will start the horizontal week layout, which begins and continues until the end of the year. If you look closely, you'll see small dot marks which you can use to help divide up the row if you want. And the right side is blank and also features a slightly darker grey line, which again you can use to divide the page. At the bottom of every page, They will either be in Japanese or English depending on which version you choose. If you don't like that, you can just cover it with washi after all the weeks end. In the back you have 30 blank pages. This is for the standard weeks. If you do get the Mega, you'll have 217 blank pages in the back. It is a great, compact, portable planner, and the way you use it is entirely up to you. I've used this for tracking planning journaling and the layout is very simplified so it's really fun to get to use your stickers and markers and really make it your own. This is the planner that got me back into journaling consistently in 2023. it was the only notebook that I used. Because it's smaller, it felt very doable for me to stick with it for an entire year. I often joke that this is my gateway planner. I've also used it to track how much time I spend outside tracking my spending habits. I've used it as a daily gratitude lots of to do list, writing down the weather, and habit tracking. There are so many ways to use it and there's lots of inspiration to find from other users who share their layouts in the blank pages, I've done monthly recaps and I also created this reading template so I can visually see all the books that I read in a year. I always love the idea of a book journal, but realistically knew I can Never keep up with one, so this kind of checks that box for me. And it's so fun to update. I include my to be read list, a goal tracker, my library savings and my storygraph stats from the end of each month. And you could really do this for any type of media you consume. And if you wanna write longer reviews you could also use it for that. I always love seeing how people use their hobonichi planners, especially because this one is so small. It's just really fun to see how people utilise the space. And every year there are a ton of colours and designs so there is plenty of options for you to choose from. Hopefully you can find one that fits your style or personality. Remember two you can always keep your layout simple with black ink and markers if the thought of colour, stickers and washi overwhelm you. Let me know if you have any questions, wanna share your favourite layout, or just chat about planners. Thanks for watching, bye!
