mid year journal ecosystem check in

Let this be a reminder that it is always okay to change your mind if things are not suiting you. This is my journal ecosystem from the beginning of the year. I have my journal, my everyday logistic planning notebook, then Hobonichi weeks. And now this is my current journal ecosystem. I just want to give like a mid-year update on how I've been changing up my journaling routine, changing up my journaling ecosystem, figuring out what I really like, what's really useful and practical for me. Especially right now because even though we're midway through 2026, it's almost 2027 planner time. I think a lot of planner companies tend to drop their 2027 planners now or in the next couple months. Like, probably, thinking what's working for you and trying to understand how you can better set yourself up for success in 2027. Starting off with one of the most popular planners on the internet, Hobonichi, the weeks. And I picked this up and started using it first in December 2025 and I ended up giving up on it because I didn't end up liking the size of it. I thought it was way too narrow to be writing in and I just couldn't get into a routine that I liked where I felt like I was really getting a lot of value out of it. This is basically how I had it set up with just like plans, finances, little weekly reflections, but it just feels so crowded and my handwriting ultimately just wasn't enough. I wasn't using this very naturally. And then I also was using this behemoth, which is my junk journal. It's actually insane how heavy and hard to carry this is. This is the Martina Calvi junk journal from her website, The Tiny Store. And I love her and I love all of her products except for this one. It was way too difficult to actually work in. The binding broke like multiple times for me. The pages were just too many pages in it, so it bulked up really fast as well. The papers I think a little bit too thick. I did like how it came with this ribbon to tie everything together. I ended up having to cut a lot of pages out just so I could finish and then I went into 2026 with this Midori A5 notebook, which I really like and I love Midori notebooks. But the only thing I'm changing is the way that I'm using it where I was using it for both work and personal logistic and planning and then for junk journaling. And I think going forward I want to separate those into different notebooks to just have some more separation between work and personal life. And I will get more notebooks and I do love them a lot. I'm probably gonna give a dedicated video to my updated journal ecosystem. Just overall, I figured out a little bit more of the style that I use books for planning, for junk journaling. And then for logistics. And I think that's it.
