Homes sold for less than their asking price in 38 of the 50 largest U.S. housing markets , according to the latest monthly Redfin data. For many buyers, that means more room to negotiate — if they can afford today’s record-high home prices. The pattern isn’t limited to just big metros. Nationally, only about 25% of homes are selling above their asking price, down from roughly 55% at the pandemic-era peak in 2022, according to Redfin.
