There seems to be a huge trend at least that's what I'm seeing online of people leaving corporate and I am a part of that as well. I thought I was somebody who was going to be in corporate my whole entire life. I went to school got a finance degree, got my first corporate job in Toronto on Bay Street and thought I was just going to climb the ladder and that was going to be my life. But the reason why I think so many people are leaving corporate, it's the reason why I left corporate is because 90% of the work that you do in a corporate environment actually has to do with managing varying personalities, managing fragile egos and the problem is that we were really sold this dream, you know, go to school, get your education, go get a corporate job, be a big shot. That's really not what working in corporate is for a lot of people. There are far too many people in managerial leadership positions who are not deserving of those positions. And the reality is is that the people underneath of them end up having to manage their emotional load, their fragile egos and anybody who has any level of confidence, any level of drive, just any level of almost like self respect and and desire to learn and find purpose in their work is simply just not willing to tolerate that nonsense. It was one of the biggest reasons why I left, just like, oh, why in the world would I go to school for as long as I did, work as hard as I did, just to manage the ego and emotional load of a person who would not care if I was here tomorrow. There's no purpose, there's no meaning, there's no growth for me in managing your emotions. And no smart person wants to or is willing to deal with that nonsense.
