Is this the person I am to marry?

A lot of Christians ask God, is this the one I'm supposed to marry? Is this the one I'm supposed to marry? And instead God says to them, we know that in all things, I will work for your good. And they go on and ask God, is this the person I'm supposed to marry? And the response that they get from the Lord is, I will be with you always, even to the end of the age. Be very careful when it comes to saying, this is the only person I can marry. God will guide you, God will lead you through a myriad of different ways. I don't know specifically how. But I do know that God has given you and me minds. He's given us hearts to love him and to love each other. And when we build a friendship with a person, and that friendship gets to the point of us beginning to realize, we can serve God better together than apart. Then it's appropriate and good and healthy to be married. So marry well, but don't get caught up in, is this exactly the right person for me to marry? No. Trust Christ, obey Christ, follow him closely. And he will guide you regarding who to marry. Why is it that arranged marriages have a way higher percentage of people staying together in marriage? I'm not saying it's the correct way or the right way of doing things, but of a lot of it has to do with, usually in an arranged marriage, there's a covenant before God or at least a god, and it's for community. That's why you're getting married. But in the US, we still often think, no, it's attractive, that's going to be the ultimate determiner of whether I marry this person or not. And besides, marriage is for my own personal happiness, which is what the average American says. Well, when you go into marriage like that, that's going to be a tremendously fragile marriage, not based off of sacrifice and covenant, but based off of my own personal autonomy and does this person really fit my agenda? No. You decide who you're going to marry based off of what their ultimate goal in life is, and are you able to look at them and say, me too. And then you build a life according to that plan.
