This is literally the best birria I have had since I started doing taco reviews. Birria Bersol is a home kitchen in Pomona but it feels like you are eating in someone’s backyard in Michoacán. They have Birria de res y chivo and quesadillas de chapulines. The family was extremely welcoming and the portions were huge. The consommé was so good I was literally drinking the stuff and the chunks of birria in it were so tender. The tortillas are made by hand fresh to order and they have delicious aguas. We also got a cafe de olla which hit the spot. If you are looking for goat or beef birria in Pomona this is the spot for you. #pomona #claremont #chino #ontariocalifornia #ptown

BOTH THE CONSOMME AND MEAT WERE EASILY SOME OF THE BEST I'VE HAD OUTSIDE OF LOS ANGELES. THE PLATES COME WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO LOAD UP YOUR TACOS AND I WAS A HUGE FAN OF THEIR CHIPOTLE SALSA. THE HANDMADE TORTILLAS WERE SOFT BUT STILL HELD UP PERFECTLY AGAINST THE CONSOMME. THE TACOS WERE SO GOOD I HAD TO ADD A QUESADILLA WHICH WAS MADE WITH A HUGE HANDMADE TORTILLA AND EASILY A HALF POUND OF CHEESE. I BELIEVE THEY USE A OAXACA CHEESE BUT IT WAS HIGH QUALITY AND HAD JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF ELASTICITY. MESSAGE THEM FOR THE ADDRESS. The best birria in Pomona is being made in this backyard every Sunday from 8 AM to 3 PM. The tortillas are made by hand, fresh to order and stuffed with birria de res or chivo. This is Birria Bersol. I went with the taco plate today and it came with a consommé filled with chunks of meat. Both the consommé and meat were easily some of the best I've had outside of Los Angeles. The plates come with everything you need to load up your tacos and I was a huge fan of their chipotle salsa. The handmade tortillas were soft but still held up perfectly against the consommé. The tacos were so good I had to add a quesadilla, which was made with a huge handmade tortilla and easily a half pound of cheese. I believe they use a Oaxaca cheese, but it was high quality and had just the right amount of elasticity. Message them for the address. It literally feels like you're walking into a backyard in Michoacán. You can also hit them up for catering and events!
