This is your reminder that everything in life is negotiable. And the U.S. Healthcare system is so messed up that it does not always operate like a system made to take care of you. It operates like a capitalistic business. Okay, so if they're playing it like a business for profit, you can play it that way, too. I had a video a few months ago go viral on here because people didn't know that you can negotiate your medical bills. You just call them up and negotiate. And here we are once again having the same situation. Because I have had two I U D's that I've loved. And if you're a woman, you know how important your birth control is and how changing your birth control can throw off all your hormones. So I went to go call them to get a new I U D, your I U D. Is not covered by insurance. But this other competitive brand is as if it's like a brand of yoghurt. I was like, well, this actually isn't a competitive product or a similar product, because it has different levels of hormones, and it has estrogen, and I had chronic migraines, so I can't have estrogen, right? So this is not even, like, the same product. My insurance does not cover this birth control that works best with my body. Okay. Mad about it. you can pay for it out of Pocket. How much you guys think that is out of pocket? Uh, sixteen hundred dollars plus insertion. So probably around two grand. So then I get mad and I'm like, you know what? Okay. They say you order, you can call pharmacy and order yourself. I called the pharmacy. 16. Call another pharmacy. Very similar. And just when I was about to give up my dad, I called my dad and I was, like, sad about it. And he was like, well, call more. Call more. There's gotta be some that are different. Call Planned Parenthood. And you know what? I called a bunch, and there are some that are offering the same exact medical service, for half the price of what that doctor's office was. As if I'm, like, buying a car. I'm, like, calling around, getting quotes. How is this system designed this way that as a patient, it's now my responsibility to figure this cost out? No price transparency, no, like, assistance in this progress? It's up to you to figure it out. I'm getting mad. I'm gonna calm down. Um, but my point is, the reason I wanna tell you this. Do not be afraid to negotiate things. If this system is set up like a business, it is, uh, with lots of people making lots of money, sometimes at your health, sometimes at your detriment. Do not be afraid. Negotiate. Pick up the phone. So I think We're good. I think I'm gonna get the service for half the price of what I was gonna get it. But it's just like, god damn. Has to be so hard.
