The way your hand enters the water defines everything that comes after it. 👉 There are three ways most swimmers enter. And only one of them actually works. 1️⃣ Too narrow. Crossing over the centerline. ❌ Your elbow immediately goes into the wrong position. ❌ A high elbow catch becomes almost impossible. ❌ Your arm points across your body and your whole body follows it sideways. 🔴 You might not even notice it happening. But every single lap you're drifting slightly further than you should be and creating resistance the whole way. 2️⃣ Too wide. ❌ Yes your catch might survive it. But your arm is now pointing outward. ❌ Your body follows it sideways again. ❌ And you're creating drag from the moment your hand hits the water. 🔴 Same result. Different direction. 3️⃣ In line with your shoulder. The perfect entry. ✅ Your arm points straight forward. Your body follows it straight forward. Your elbow is in the perfect position to go straight into a high elbow catch. 👉 And here's a simple drill to train it. ✅ Hold a kickboard at the bottom edge. The width of a kickboard is roughly shoulder width. Practice entering your hand right at each corner until it becomes automatic. 🎯 If you want to see exactly how your entry looks and what it's doing to your catch, film yourself on your phone and send it inside the Swim Success Training app. I'll personally review your stroke and tell you exactly what to fix first. link in bio
