THINGS I HAVEN'T DONE AS AN OCTOBER 2026 BRIDE

Here is everything that is still on my to-do list as an October 2026 bride. I'm going to jump all over the place because this list is not organized at all. For reference, we are about seven weeks out from the wedding right now. Okay, we need to go pick up our wedding bands. We just got word that they have finally arrived, so we're going to go try them on one more time and pick them up. Next week, I have both my hair, makeup trials, and then also my dress fitting. Hopefully, it'll be the last alteration's appointment for my dress. But if not, we still have time to do like one more round of alterations. Do you need to try on Michael's suit all together to make sure that it all fits? Like he's tried on just the pants, just the jacket, but we haven't done it all together. We just got our RSVP's in, so I'm starting to work on the seating chart. This may sound weird, but I've been looking forward to making the seating chart. It sounds like such a fun little puzzle to get to move everybody around. So I'm working on not only where people will sit, but the actual layouts of the tables. And then once we have that all figured out, I'm making our seating chart mirror and then also individual place cards. Some of our guests are staying on site at our wedding venue, so I just need to make sure everyone gets their rooms booked. We did our cake tasting a few weeks ago. We are going with Publix for our wedding cake. And since we're getting married about two hours away, we went to a local Publix here to order from a local Publix venue. So either this week or next week, we're going to call the Publix over there to confirm everything. And a lot of the things on this list were last minute questions about vendors and timelines and things like that. But I am so excited since we are under two months out, our wedding coordinator is now like taking all of that over. Shout out Acelyn, she is amazing. We just had our two-month meeting with her and I'm so excited to pass the torch on all of the vendor and timeline stuff. Then either this week or next week, we're going to apply for our marriage license. Still need to write my vows. Don't tell Michael, but I've already been working on my vows for over a year now. Just by writing down little bullet points that I want to include. And another huge shout out is to our close friend who's also officiating the ceremony for us. And what she did was so cute, she made this huge Google form asking questions about us and like our love story and she's going to use all of our answers to incorporate that into the ceremony. Okay, there's still a ton I get to decide for the DJ. We are using the company Graingertainment and they've been so highly rated and I can already see why. They have this whole backend portal where you can put in all of the songs you want at what time of the night. You can copy and paste in Spotify playlists. And they have it so broken down to like the processional, like when the grandparents walk down, what the parents do and so on. A couple little DIYs, I'm making a bar sign on Canva and I'm just going to print that out and frame it. Our groomsmen already have their suits in and everything fits perfectly. The only thing is the suits didn't come with shoes or belts. So all of the guys are just going to compare and contrast what they have so that we can all get them matching. There are a few things that I did check off that I did yesterday. I placed an Etsy order. I got our guest book cake topper and then you guys are going to laugh at me for this, but I ordered Cosmos tucks. Cosmos is going to be at our wedding for the portraits and as a little greeter for the ceremony. And I ordered him a little harness that has a tuxedo on it. It was really hard to measure him. Okay, then last category, we have a lot of stuff to do for our welcome party. Rather than a formal rehearsal dinner, we're going to do a welcome party. We're having I think 70 guests. We rented out a private back room of a brewery for food. We decided to go with Carabas. They have really good catering packages. So first thing is to decide exactly what our selection will be. And then Carabas said it does come with like plates and plastic silverware, but I will definitely want to upgrade those. So I'm going to do an Amazon order for the cutlery and plates and stuff. Then we're doing speeches and toasts at our welcome party rather than wedding receptions. So I just need to make sure who all wants to speak the night before and kind of create a schedule around that. The welcome party venue does have its own sound system with speakers and microphone. And they said we can just send our playlist for them to play that night. So I just need to make that. Yeah, lots of music decisions to be made. And that's it as of now. I'm still probably missing so much on this list, but hey, it'll be done one way or another in about seven weeks.
