I talk a lot about wedding planning on here and everything I've done recently. But let's be a little bit more realistic here is everything I haven't done yet as an October 2026 bride. First up, dessert. Don't know what we're doing for dessert. We do probably want just like one or two tier cake for Michael to cut. But even for that, we'll probably just do our cake cutting in private. We don't really care too much about making a big deal of it. And we'd rather use the extra time at our reception for dancing. But for dessert for the guests, I don't know. As of now, we like the idea of using public. Whether we'll have sheet cakes in the back or just other desserts from them. I don't know. I tasked my mom with looking into it for us. Thanks, Mom. Next up, we haven't gotten nor started even looking into wedding rings. That one I'm a little worried about because I don't know how long that takes. I kind of have an idea of what I want for mine, but Michael has no clue. I think we'll first just go to a jewelry store to try different kinds on. And after figure out who will want to order it through. Also Michael got my engagement ring custom made. So we were talking about maybe going through the same person for my wedding band. But if it's custom made and I still have no clue what I want, I don't know if there's time. Next thing we haven't done is food for our welcome party. The night before our wedding, we're having a bigger welcome party for more out of town guests. So a little bit bigger and more casual than like a formal rehearsal dinner. We are having it at a brewery, so drinks and bartenders already accounted for. But food/catering for that, no clue. We want something cheaper and more casual. We will probably end up getting like a catering package from a restaurant. So if you have any recommendations for restaurants in Winter Haven, Florida, let me know. I haven't scheduled my hair or makeup trial yet. I'm not too worried about that one though. I'm on summer break from teaching, so my availability right now is pretty much open for the entire day. So I will probably end up with full like bridal hair and makeup on a random Thursday in the middle of the day. And I guess before the trial, I also have to figure out what type of hair and makeup I want. But at least I have some ideas for that though, so I'm not too worried. I just had my first wedding dress fitting, but before my next one, I want to have all of my bridal jewelry. I want to be able to try it on all together and see the final look. So that means I need to look for and buy all of my jewelry. Lastly, I haven't started on any of the signage or DIY crafts. I have a Cricut and I've been using that to hand address all of my envelopes. But there's lots of things I want to do with like the vinyl. But I've never done that, so I need to learn how to use my Cricut and then I need to actually design and create all of the decor. So yeah, hopefully that makes you feel a little bit better. And I don't know, I feel like wedding planning is just like a constant feeling of being behind. But the good news is, it'll all figure itself out one way or another by October.
