Waking up before 6am… every. single. day? 🫠 Early morning wakes are one of the most frustrating sleep struggles, but the answer isn’t always what you’d expect. I’m Jaq! Certified Sleep Consultant and mom of 3 littles 👇Here are 5 things I look at first: 1. Try moving bedtime earlier, not later. It sounds backwards, but overtired babies often wake earlier. An earlier bedtime can actually help fix those early starts. 2. Make sure daytime sleep is on track. Did you know? The first wake window of the day helps determine the following morning’s wake-up time? And too much daytime sleep can contribute to early mornings too. If your little one is consistently waking early, they may be ready for a small stretch to that first wake window. 3. Check the sleep environment. Even tiny light leaks can signal that it’s time to start the day. Aim for a cave-dark room until your desired wake-up time. 4. Don’t rush in at the first sound. Babies are noisy sleepers and often stir between sleep cycles. Giving them a few minutes can sometimes be enough for them to settle back to sleep. 5. Hold off on feeding right away. If your baby wakes early, try rocking or settling them for a good 10 minutes before offering a feed. Delaying the feed—even by just a little bit each day—can work wonders in helping prevent that exact same wake-up time from becoming a habit. Early wakes are rarely random. Usually, there’s something in the schedule, environment, or sleep habits that just needs a little tweaking. 💜 Follow @babygotjaq for all of the baby and toddler sleep hacks that actually work and help everyone get more sleep! #sleepconsultant #babysleep #baby #momof3
