Emergency public service announcement. A federal judge has thrown out the 75 country visa ban. This is huge, really good news. Called the policy patently unlawful. This judge ruled that the immigration nationality act specifically says you cannot judge somebody based on their nationality. That each individual person who applies for an immigrant visa has to have an individual decision on whether they're qualified to enter the United States as a lawful permanent resident. This is nearly 40% of all countries in the world who've been banned from the United States. And almost 48% of immigrants who wanted to enter the United States. Basically half the world. It affected spouses, parents, children of American citizens, along with professionals, every person under the sun who was entitled to a green card. Now, this doesn't cover tourist visas or student visa bans or anything else. This just covers green cards. And here's what made the policy so extreme. Council officers were told to continue interviewing applicants, evaluating whether they were admissible. But even if an applicant was eligible for a green card, that applicant in no way was public charge because of the country they were born in. And that caused the refusal of under section 21. G. Judge specifically said that the immigration nationality act prevents discrimination based on nationality. And she also gave individual councilor officers, of state, Marco Rubio, the authority to determine whether someone's eligible for green card. She also vacated every visa refusal based solely upon that policy applications back for individualized decisions. Does that mean visa on Monday? No, but that means that the embassy is back in business on Monday, and they should start immediately processing people's immigrant visas. Now, Trump can appeal, he appeals, he needs a judge, whether this judge, who won't do it, or the second appeals judge to put a stay on the processing of these immigrant visas. And probably the second circuit, my guess is, will say no because they're more liberal, gonna go to on an emergency basis. But at the moment, people should be eligible to start processing for their green cards. [Music] Disclaimer: Attorney Advertisement. Prior successful results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
