I've been testing it out for the last month to find out: Is it truly worth the splurge? Here's my honest review. First, let's talk price. At almost $1,000, this machine is expensive. But it's comparable to fully automatic machines from brands like De'Longhi and Breville, and it's only $150 more than the Ninja Luxe Cafe Pro, which I've used for the last two years. Instead of simply choosing between espresso, drip coffee and cold brew, the AutoBarista gives you 13 drinks to choose from, including iced lattes, cappuccinos, cortados and drip coffee. You also get five milk froth options, plus controls for temperature, texture and dairy or nondairy milk. Setup was simple, with detailed instructions and helpful YouTube videos. It took me a few drinks to get the hang of everything, but after that I felt like a full-on professional barista. It works with both whole beans and ground coffee and comes with two interchangeable bean hoppers. That's especially useful if your household likes different beans, or if you want to switch between regular and decaf. My favorite part is that I never have to touch the grinder or tamper. That's one of my biggest pain points with the Ninja Luxe Cafe. With one button, the AutoBarista grinds and tamps the beans, brews your drink and discards the used grounds for you. I've made iced lattes, hot coffee, espresso shots, cold foam and more, and everything has tasted like a fancy $9 drink from a New York City coffee shop. So, is it worth $900? If you want an all-in-one machine that makes your morning coffee faster and easier, I think it could be.
